The following information describes the benefits Lam Research provides for employees in the United States.  Inquiries regarding international benefits should be directed to the specific Lam Research offices in the respective foreign country.

The diversity of Lam’s employee population is one of our greatest strengths.  Benefits programs support that diversity by providing a broad set of options that can be tailored to individual needs.

Lam Research also offers a variety of additional benefits that extend beyond the standard medical, dental, and insurance packages employees normally expect.  Lam’s additional benefits include educational assistance, on-site training courses, adoption aid, and wellness programs.

Health and Well Being Benefits

Medical Coverage: Employees can choose from traditional preferred provider organization (PPOs), medical plans with various deductibles and co-payments, or a variety of health maintenance organizations (HMOs) varying by location, the amount of deductible, and annual
out-of-pocket limits.

Dental Coverage: Employees have several dental plan choices with varying deductibles and coinsurance.

Vision Care: An eye examination and new lenses are covered every 12 months.  Frames are covered every 24 months. Higher benefits are paid when using the preferred provider network.

Health Care Flexible Spending Account:
Pre-tax dollars can be used to pay any eligible medical, dental, or vision care expenses that are not covered by other benefit plans.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account: Pre-tax dollars can also be used to pay for certain dependent care expenses.  Lam Research matches 15 percent of the employee's contribution.

Wellness Programs: Lam Research offers a wellness lifestyle program for a variety of activities, including health fairs and brown bag workshops.  We provide up to $300 per year reimbursement for eligible fitness/gym membership expenses.

Income Protection Benefits

Company Provided Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance: This program provides financial security for family or other beneficiaries in case of death and for death and dismemberment resulting from an accident. 

Supplemental Employee Paid Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance: Employees can opt for additional financial security for death or dismemberment resulting from an accident.

Voluntary Disability Insurance (VDI) and Short-Term Disability Plans: During the first 120 days of disability VDI or short-term disability provides employees with income protection.

Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance: When employees can not work for a period longer than 120 days as a result of a prolonged disability this program provides a portion of regular income.

Dependent Life Insurance: Unexpected expenses resulting from the death of a spouse or dependent child are covered by this program.

Financial Accumulation Benefits

Savings Plus 401(k) Plan: This retirement savings plan offers an investment opportunity and a tax deferral benefit for all eligible employees.  Lam Research matches 50 percent of the first
6 percent of base salary deferred into the program.  Lam’s matching contribution vests immediately.

Performance Plus Bonus Plan: All eligible employees participate in a semi-annual performance bonus based on the achievement of both corporate and organizational goals.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan: At designated intervals, Lam Research employees can purchase Lam Research stock directly from the company at 85 percent of fair market value.

Credit Union: The credit union provides a variety of services, including interest paying checking accounts and low-interest credit cards.

Work and Family Benefits

Vacation Program: Days of vacation accrue incrementally with years of service, as follows:

Starting at date of hire through 3 years, 10 days
After completion of 3rd year through 10th year, 15 days
After completion of 10th year, 20 days
After completion of 11th year, 20 days plus an additional half day of vacation for each additional year
•  After 25 years, maximum vacation accrual is 220 hours per year

Holidays: There are 12 paid holidays per year.

Personal Time Off: Non-exempt, full-time employees are allowed 10 days of paid time off per year for either illness or personal business.

Sabbatical Program: In recognition of and as an incentive for long service, sabbatical benefits (equal to an additional 6 weeks of paid time off for every 5 years of continuous employment).

Additional paid time off for Jury Duty and Bereavement.

Additional Benefits

Educational Assistance: Upon approval, assistance is available to reimburse employees for expenses incurred for registration, tuition, and books in career-related courses (up to $10,000 per calendar year).

Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Employees and their dependents can receive confidential help from mental health, financial, and legal professionals free of charge.

Work/Life Resource and Referral Program: Referral services are provided for child care and elder care, as well as for school, college, and adoption assistance.  Educational materials and on-site seminars related to work and family balance are offered as well.

Adoption Aid: Employees who are adopting a child are reimbursed up to $2,000 to help cover the expenses of adoption.
